Replacement filter for the Austin Air Bedroom Machine® with Pre-Filter. The Austin Air Bedroom Machine® is designed to help those who suffer from various sleep-related problems. The results of two separate clinical trials show this unit to be highly effective at removing dangerous airborne pollutants from the home. Keep the air in your bedroom free from pollution and get the good night’s sleep you deserve.
All standard size units are interchangeable with all standard size filters. So, if you purchased a standard size HealthMate® and would like to upgrade to a Bedroom Machine®, simply purchase a replacement Bedroom Machine® filter.
All our filters are designed to last up to five years under normal residential use. You can check the size of your existing filter by looking for a label on the bottom of the unit. Model HM400 indicates standard size filter. Still not sure which filter you need? Our Standard size filters measure 14.5” high.
When ordering your replacement filter, please ensure you have selected the correct size and type, before confirming your order as there may be a restocking fee for returning filters that are ordered incorrectly.

- STAGE 1 – Large Particle Pre-filter. Removes particles easily seen by the naked eye (e.g. dust, hair and pet dander)
- STAGE 2 – Medium Particle Pre-filter. Removes small to medium size particles (e.g. molds, spores and pollen) Color: gray, blue or green
- STAGE 3 – Over 780 cubic inches of Activated Carbon and Zeolite Removes chemicals, gases and odors
- STAGE 4 – 60 sq. ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA. Removes 99.97% of all particles 0.3 microns and larger and 99% of all particles 0.1 microns and larger.
- STAGE 5 – Military Grade HEGA Carbon Cloth. HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Arrestance), providing an extremely large surface area for adsorption of chemicals, gases, viruses and bacteria.
- HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Arrestance) is a term that is unique to Austin Air. A HEGA filter is a military carbon cloth filter medium that is featured in our Allergy Machine and Bedroom Machine.

The Allergy Machine:

HealthMate:

STAGE 4 – 60 sq. ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA. Removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 99% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns.

Is it time to replace my filter?
There are two indications that your filter needs to be replaced:
- An unpleasant odor coming from the unit means that the carbon in the filter is full and the filter needs to be replaced, and
- Significantly reduced airflow coming from the unit means that the HEPA filter is full and the filter needs to be replaced.
Filter Warranty
The amount of carbon, the carbon bed thickness, and the amount of True Medical HEPA paper in our filters allows us to achieve a pro-rated five (5) year warranty. Our filters should last for five years in a normal household setting.
Austin Air provides a five (5) year pro-rated filter warranty, by far the most comprehensive in the industry. This means if the filter lasts less than five years, Austin Air will discount the cost of a new filter based on the number of years the filter has been in use. Rest assured, Austin Air filters are designed to last for an unprecedented 5 years under normal residential use.
